Shared Lives
Family builds one person’s life together — eras, stories, invite-only circle.
What it is
A Shared Life is a stewarded space for someone who may never log into Dayze themselves — a grandparent, a parent, anyone whose story the family wants to preserve. Relatives each use their own Dayze accounts to contribute.
This is separate from your personal Timeline eras and Day Reels. It is also separate from the Family plan (billing seats).
How to use it
- Open
/lives(sidebar: Lives). - Create a life with their name, birth date, and place.
- As owner, use Edit to add a short about, dates, and place — days lived updates from birth (and death if set).
- Invite family by email or Dayze handle. They accept at
/lives/invite/[token]. Copy the invite link if email does not send. - Add eras (life chapters) and stories together.
Tip: v1 is invite-only (circle). A public memorial page can come later without changing the data model.
Roles
- Owner — creates the life, edits details, invites
- Contributor — adds eras and stories
- Viewer — read-only
Eras vs Stories
- Eras — named chapters with start/end dates and place (e.g. “Singapore years”, “Army”).
- Stories — short written memories from anyone in the circle, optionally dated.
Note: Shared life eras are not the same as your personal Timeline eras on
/timeline. Personal eras filter your Day Reels; shared eras belong to the stewarded life only.Privacy
Only members of the circle can see the life. Invites expire after 14 days. The subject does not need a Dayze account.
