What are Day Reels?
Day Reels are the heart of Dayze. Each day of your life becomes a rich, scrollable card packed with everything that happened — events, people you saw, photos from your camera roll, music you listened to, health data, money flow, inventory purchases, movie/TV watches, and your Day Score.
Swipe vertically to move through time. Scroll down for older days, up for more recent ones. It's like Instagram Stories, but for your entire life — and the content is yours.
What's on a Day Card
Hero Photos
Full-bleed photos from your camera roll, auto-synced from iOS Journaling Suggestions.
Events
Meetings, appointments, and activities — from manual entry, Dayze Agent, or Apple Calendar sync.
People
Who you interacted with, thought of, or met that day.
Music
Recently played tracks from Spotify with album art and timestamps.
Health
Steps, sleep, heart rate, and calories from Apple Health (iOS only).
Money Flow
Expenses, income, avoided expenses, and transaction details logged for that day.
Inventory Purchases
Items bought or added to Life Inventory on their purchase date, with value and item details.
Movie / TV Watches
Movie Diary and TV Diary logs appear as media rows, even when they were not mirrored into calendar events.
Places
Locations you visited with category icons and visit details.
Weather
Weather conditions for the day (when location is enabled).
Day Score
Your personal 1-10 rating for how the day went.
Insight Cards
As you scroll through your days, Dayze automatically inserts AI-generated Insight Cards between your Day Cards. These surface patterns you might not notice on your own:
- Streaks — "You've scored 7+ for 5 days straight"
- Milestones — "You're halfway through your 20s"
- Spending patterns — "You spent 40% more this week on dining"
- Social connections — "You've seen Sarah 8 times this month"
- Score trends — "Your average score is trending up by +0.5"
- Anti-doomscroll — Gentle reminders to be present
Day Ledger Sources
Day Reels are backed by /api/day-summary, which aggregates multiple Dayze modules into one day card. The Day Card renders normal events separately from media and inventory so a day reads like a ledger of what actually happened.
- Events from the calendar and Dayze Agent event creation.
- People from event tags and interactions such as thoughts, messages, calls, and meetings.
- Money Flow from expenses, income, transfers, and avoided expenses.
- Inventory Purchases from
inventory_items.purchase_date. - Media from
user_movie_loganduser_tv_log. - Places, health, weather, music, photos, and Day Score from the relevant Dayze modules and integrations.
Movie and TV watch rows are de-duplicated from mirrored “Watched:” calendar events so they show under Media without repeating in the normal event list.
Eras and Days
On /timeline, switch between Eras (life chapters — Army, Boston school, SF, NYC…) and Days (Day Reels). Opening an era filters the day scroll to that date range — days are a subset of eras.
Time Navigation
Use the step chips at the top of Day Reels to jump between time intervals:
- Day — Move one day at a time
- 1W — Jump by week
- 1M — Jump by month
- 3M — Jump by quarter
- 1Y — Jump by year
The scrubber at the bottom lets you drag to any point in your life, from Day 0 (your birthday) to today.
Fullscreen Mode
Tap the expand icon on any Day Card to enter fullscreen mode for a distraction-free, immersive view of that day. Press Escape or tap the collapse button to return.
