Virginia Giuffre

Virginia Louise Giuffre, née Roberts, is an American-Australian woman who was sexually trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein beginning at age 16. Recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell while working as a locker room attendant at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, Giuffre alleges she was repeatedly sexually abused by Epstein and loaned out to his associates, including Prince Andrew, Alan Dershowitz, and Jean-Luc Brunel — allegations Andrew and Dershowitz denied. In 2015, Giuffre filed a defamation lawsuit against Maxwell, which produced depositions and documents that were instrumental in exposing the full scope of Epstein's network. In 2022, she settled a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew for an undisclosed sum estimated at £12 million. She also filed suit against Dershowitz, which was later settled. Giuffre has become the most visible survivor-advocate of the Epstein case and has spoken publicly about her experiences in documentaries and media appearances. She moved to Australia with her family.

Giuffre had a troubled childhood, including periods of homelessness and abuse. She was living on the streets of South Florida when she was taken in by a family friend and began working at Mar-a-Lago at age 15-16.

Giuffre was photographed with Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell in London in 2001 — a photo that became one of the most iconic images of the Epstein scandal. She was the first accuser to publicly identify herself. Her 2015 defamation suit against Maxwell produced the depositions and documents that were unsealed in 2024.

Married Robert Giuffre, an Australian martial arts instructor she met while traveling with Epstein. They have three children and live in Australia.
