Pam Bondi

Pamela Jo Bondi is an American attorney and politician serving as the 87th Attorney General of the United States, confirmed by the Senate on February 4, 2025. Born in Tampa, Florida, she is a fourth-generation Floridian. Bondi served as Florida's 37th Attorney General from 2011 to 2019, becoming the first woman to hold the position. As Florida AG, she focused on combating the opioid crisis, human trafficking, and consumer fraud, successfully shutting down 98 illicit oxycodone dispensing clinics and strengthening anti-human trafficking laws. Before entering politics, Bondi spent over 18 years as a prosecutor in the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office, specializing in child abuse and handling cases from domestic violence to capital murder. In 2019, she joined the Trump administration as Special Advisor in the Office of White House Counsel and served on Trump's defense team during his first impeachment trial. She subsequently joined the lobbying firm Ballard Partners and held positions at the America First Policy Institute. In 2025, President Trump nominated her as Attorney General and she was confirmed by a vote of 54-46.

Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, in a politically engaged family — her father Joseph Bondi was a city council member. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from the University of Florida in 1987 and a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 1990. She spent 18 years as a prosecutor before entering politics.

Bondi was the first woman elected Attorney General of Florida. She served on Trump's defense team during the first impeachment trial. As Florida AG, she shut down 98 illicit oxycodone clinics. She was confirmed as U.S. AG with a single Democratic vote (John Fetterman). She holds a financial stake in Trump Media and Technology Group.

Fourth-generation Floridian. Father Joseph Bondi was a Tampa city council member. Has been married and divorced twice. No children publicly known.
