Larry Summers

Lawrence Henry Summers is an American economist who served as the 71st U.S. Secretary of the Treasury under President Bill Clinton (1999-2001) and as President of Harvard University (2001-2006). Summers flew on Epstein's private plane and attended dinners at Epstein's Manhattan residence. After Epstein's arrest in 2019, Summers acknowledged the meetings but said they were related to fundraising for Harvard and scientific discussions. He has said he regrets the association. Flight logs show Summers traveled on the "Lolita Express," though no allegations of criminal conduct have been made against him.

Born into an academic family — both of his parents were economists and two of his uncles (Paul Samuelson and Kenneth Arrow) won Nobel Prizes in Economics. Graduated from MIT and earned his Ph.D. from Harvard.

Both of Summers' uncles won the Nobel Prize in Economics. He became one of the youngest tenured professors in Harvard's history at age 28. His tenure as Harvard president ended controversially after remarks about gender and science aptitude.
