Hugo Liepmann

Hugo Karl Liepmann (April 9, 1863 – April 16, 1925) was a German neurologist and psychiatrist. He worked at Berlin's City Mental Hospital and became one of the leading figures in neuropsychology, best known for his studies of apraxia — the inability to perform learned movements. His classification of ideational, ideomotor, and limb-kinetic apraxia remains influential in clinical neurology.

Liepmann studied medicine in Berlin and trained under leading neurologists of the late 19th century. He combined clinical psychiatry with experimental approaches to motor disorders.
